December

dicembre.jpgHere we are together and awaiting the grand event, the news of great joy: “…today is born for you in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord”!  We are among those who are saved!!! sadness, anxiety, solitude, envy, and  jealousy…all the things that weigh on us that don’t allow us to live love,
Don’t deny the experience of salvation that each one of us has had: Jesus is alive and works in us even if we don’t realise, because God is faithful in love and rich in mercy.
Lets lower ourselves to enter into that stable where we await the most stupefying meeting of our lives: “This for you is the sign: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling-clothes, lying in a manger”.  A baby!
Here is why we want to get down on our knees in front of Him, laid in swaddling clothes in the manger.  That child is our salvation!
God becomes small, poor, in need of everything, so that we are no longer afraid of him, to give us the joy of being able to embrace Him, to welcome Him…and how?  Embracing, welcoming and forgiving our brother, our sister, your Father, your Mother, your wife, your husband, your mother-in-law!
Embrace with trust this news and allow yourselves be liberated and healed of the tension, resentment, fear, hope, joy and peace.
Christmas also comes for us to remember the nostalgia and the need that each one of us has inside of reconciliation, of forgiveness and healing for rebuilding lost friendships, interrupted dialogues, spent smiles, to recover renewed joy and trust.
Christmas, is being born again together with that little baby who repeats to you the Infinite, faithful, unconditional love of a God who is impassioned and is the lover of his creatures, for whom He would not hesitate to give of Himself.
Think of Mary, an exceptional woman simply because she gave birth in trust, because she was not expecting Him.  She asked: “ How is it possible?  I am a virgin” and then the angel revealed this glorious mystery: “The Holy Spirit will overshadow you” and she, with a faith that was strong and robust, believed without reserve!
Mary is our Mother in faith.  She would have contemplated that baby day and night, but in faith!  Think of her wonder at the sweetness of His smile; adore with her that child, learn from her to love Him and ask her for the gift of prayer of the heart.
Happy Christmas!  With much peace, joy and love.
