Happy Easter!

 Easter 2012

Every day I am happier to be alive and happier that I was born. I am even happier because the Lord put me in a condition of not worrying about myself. I never had much time in life to think about me, how I was doing, if I was happy or sad, good or bad. I always had to look at others. I realized that they were my human, Christian, and religious mission.
I am happily married for many years now, to the Son of the carpenter of Nazareth, who is Himself a carpenter. The more I walk with Him every day in an eternal renewal of joy and life, the more I discover that to serve is to reign. There is no greater or fascinating Kingdom, or more stupendous or fruitful one, than the heart of man. To be at the service of the paternal heart of God, in order to serve mankind, helps you truly experience the privilege of reigning.
I will reveal to you a secret for reigning, to overcome exhaustion, tiredness, depression and fear. Turn your heart toward and reach out your hand to someone that is suffering more than you. It is an enormous gift to have the poor among us. When I say poor, I am thinking of your father, your husband, your wife, or your brother, in order to overcome your limits or cross the threshold of your weariness. It is a true, concrete experience of whomever, “loses his life for my sake will find it.”
I say often to the young men and women, collaborators and friends of Community Cenacolo, that not even our sin should stop us from loving. Sometimes we feel stuck, poor and incapable, for we think about our wounds and constantly focus on our limitations. Let us try, instead, to place them before the Lord in the truth, so that He can free us of the weight of our sins and send us as apostles in the world to proclaim His resurrection.
Both yesterday and today the world awaits the Paschal annunciation of hope and the joy of knowing that death is defeated forever, that a Man has freely given Himself and paid the ransom for us all. God waits for our “yes” today, so that the echo of this announcement can reach everyone, rich and poor, professors and illiterate, the good and the bad, men, women and children. It is not important who you were until now, your past, or your sins. Today is the possibility that God gives you to rise again, to be free and new.
I tell you this as a witness and as a woman who has contemplated for years the strong, silent, shining power of the resurrection of Christ, who today continues to free young people, families, and children from death. Christ continues to heal the sick, the give the sight of faith to the blind, to give trust back to those who have lost it. Jesus invites us to experience the resurrection, to become bearers of hope, to be light in the world so that He can be more visible, more evident, and more present on the earth through our lives, our calling, and our “yes.”
Mary, the Morning Star who contemplated with a joyful heart the luminous dawn of Easter morning, helps us to perceive in our eyes and those of our brothers the bright rays of the resurrection of her Son.

Happy Easter!
