January

I am always more convinced that God is the only source of life.  We are born from this source of Light.  Even if we are unaware, the embrace of God’s love envelops our lives; God breathes within us with each breath we take.
The encounter with God today is revealed in the “fullness” of time through the Father's Word.  Jesus of Nazareth reveals to us that our life is loved by God.  Therefore, today with the whole truth of our belief our faith becomes love that continues, that gives.  Just believing is not enough, nor is only knowing God with our minds.  God is not only experienced through intellect or knowledge, but primarily through His Love. God has revealed himself as a gift of love and with true gestures of love.
In these past few days this Word comes to my mind: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me.  I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness.”  We have the certainty that if we believe in Him, we will not remain in the darkness: darkness is not only during the night, but is when we are unsatisfied, it is the darkness of our mental confusions, of our fears, of our escapes.  When we experience this, it means that we lack faith, that we do not believe in Him, because “He has come as light into the world", light above all for the world that lives inside of us.  We have a Light inside of us: it is the Word of God.  Jesus does deceive us, Jesus is the truth. If there is something truly concrete and human that fulfills you in your humanity of being a man or a woman: it is the Word of God.  It is not only a vocal Word, but it is the Life of our life, Flesh of our flesh: it is the substance of our being; it is the journey of true freedom.  Often I ask myself: “How is it that we still have so much fear?  At what point is our faith?”
God’s Love and Light drives out fear, "in Love there is no fear". Love generates Trust and Trust generates Peace.  In the beginning of this year we joyfully renew our trust in God's Love offered to us through Mary: we repeat day and night in our minds, in our hearts, and in front of each situation we encounter: “Jesus I trust in you”, in the certainty that each moment of our life will be illuminated by His Light.  Happy New Year to everyone!
