“Peace on earth to those who are loved by God” Christmas is God’s feast. Only, divine and true Good that gives Himself, shows Himself, takes a face, a body in the Child Jesus. We want to live for this Good, to welcome Good, to become a part of this Good, to help others become good. Many of us have lost this face, lost life’s objective, and lost conversation with Him, who is the author of everything. God is our Father. He thought of us, wanted us, loved us and put in us the capacity of collaborating with Him for generating life. God is our father and mother. He knows and loves us with an infinite tenderness. We can freely and fearlessly tell Him everything because He loves and forgives us. Sin divides us, breaks us into pieces. His love reconstructs the unity in us because our failures, our relapses don’t make Him feel tired. We must learn to recognize God’s face, which is revealed through Jesus: our God is not a ghost, an idea, but He is alive, is a child born from Mary’s womb in Bethlehem. This is Christmas: returning to be like children, to encounter a God who became a Child, to be with Him, to re-find ourselves in Him. We live Christmas looking at that small woman everyone would like to meet. Exactly because she is small and weak her heart is as big as humanity. We entrust ourselves to Mary, our Mother, in this simple and profound time of waiting, with the heart of children, so that in this night of Light we can re-embrace our life too, we can welcome it like the “blessed fruit” of an immaculate womb, God’s merciful Love for us.
