A new Fraternity is born

The young men chosen to give life to this new “child” of Cenacolo, born in the commune of Casaleggio, were guided by Father Stefano and Father Andrea.  After several days of organizing, cleaning and giving life to the long abandoned property, the men were able to experience the joy of “baptizing” this new fraternity, giving it the name “Sky and Field”.
On May 1, feast of St. Joseph the Worker, numerous parents, benefactors and friends of the Community gathered at the new home to celebrate Mass presided by Father Gianni Colombo, Vicar of the Diocese of Novara.  Other priests were present as well, including the pastor of Casaleggio, bringing with him a message from Monsignor Enrico Masseroni, Archbishop of Vercelli.  In the message, he stated that he was delighted for a new house of Cenacolo to be “born” in his diocese.
Also present was Mother Elvira, explaining to all there that every new house is like a child, carrying joy and hope, whose first steps will be accompanied by many prayers.
The most intense and emotional moment was at the end of the Mass when the priests, followed by Mother Elvira and the young men of the house, brought the presence of the Eucharist into the tabernacle of the new chapel that had been prepared in the previous days.  When a new house of the Community opens, the space that is always prepared first is a “place” for the Lord:  He is the first to be welcomed because it is through Him that we are able to welcome every man who will enter this home looking to be reborn.
A those present continually toured the ample property the were amazed by “how much work the men had done in such few days”.
We thank St. Joseph and the Madonna for having placed the desire to donate this house to us into the hearts of the benefactors while on pilgrimage to Lourdes.  Once again, Mary leads and accompanies us, confirming that she guides our every move and every encounter.  We ask all friends of Comunità Cenacolo to place this new home in their prayers, so that it may grow and bear abundant fruit.  St. Joseph thank you, and provide for us.
