"St Augustine" May 2007...

Time has been going fast, meeting with so many people in the last few weeks after Easter for orientation and meetings. For sure in Community we never get bored. It is great because you do not have much time to think about yourself because there is always somebody else that needs something. We had some special and important events lately. One was last Sunday. One of our guys (Mason) TX received the Sacrament of Confirmation at the parish near Marywood, where we had our Adoration on the retreat weekend. Bishop Snyder was the celebrant of the Mass. A bunch of us attended. It was very touching to see him very happy to have received the gift of Holy Spirit. He was waiting in Community for a long time to be confirmed. As a gift, a few days later he was transferred to Italy and went with his cousin Mark who was going for an experience with his brother Jonathan T. (GA)

At the house of Maria Goretti, we keep working hard to get the project done. I can't wait! A few guys are working in the outbuildings, doing the stucco and doing the appropriate wiring inside the pipes. Inside the main house, Jorge and Robin continue to tile the walls of the bathroom. We will have tile on the walls all the way to the ceiling to have the most hygiene. Also, it's easy to keep it clean. The project is looking very good. For sure, the guys are doing a very good job. At the end of the project, they will feel very good about what they have done!

At Maria Immaculate we continue to clear the property. We will contract the septic and well to keep going with our project. We have a company that tests the soil where the building will be. We are locating the new area where our future project will come. In the meantime, the guys are making the place look very pretty with a lot of plants, flowers, and a beautiful garden where Jonathan and Aaron are doing a great job. This is the time of the year where we get to eat the fruit of hard work in the garden. It is very satisfying for us, and we learn to appreciate more what we do!

At OLOH it has been a busy time with orientations. If everybody enters, we will be full in a very short time. We will see. There are a bunch of guys working in the trailer (wood shop), putting up new siding and finishing the inside. It's looking good and will have some cover area in front of it to be able to bring the machinery outside to work. There's a good feeling in the with guys taking pride in what they do. The garden also looks great, and we are enjoying our fresh zucchini and spring mix salad!

First Saturday is coming up soon. We keep encouraging you to participate in your regional groups because it is good for you and for your children who are in Community. Please do it.

Here in St. Augustine, the First Saturday night Adoration is still closed to others.

We opened another house in Italy in Novara, close to Milan. It is a big farm in rice country where the famous "risotto" comes from. Maybe one day we will have Cenacolo rice! The house is for men and comes from a wonderful family that gave it to the Community. I know that it will become a great Community site. Right now, as always when the community goes to a new place, we are changing everything. I am sure it is a great construction site right now.

Our Sisters all returned to Italy from their different missions around the world. They were all in the house of Milan and will go back to Pagno to prepare for Pentecost, when some of them will take their Solemn vows. Father Stefano was in Lourdes for a short time and now is in Novara. Suor Elvira was in Milan and is going to Novara for the blessing of the new house. We do not know yet have the name. Please continue to pray for us and support our Community and the missions that we have. We are very grateful for the Lord, because He continues to provide for us through Divine Providence in our houses!

Grazie ciao
