Dear families and friends,
we want to tell you something about Mother Evira’s birthday celebration: IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
The “Boves” indoor stadium was completely dark when Mother E lvira entered it but each of us was holding a candle and the chorus ,led by our master Claudio, started to sing a song that some youth from Sora composed for her last summer and that she likes very much.
We wanted her to feel all our love: so candles, piano,violin,some dances from the girls, her brother Luciano who sang soloist and Father Stefano,accompanied by the first notes of the song she likes so much, greeted her with words coming straight from his heart.
Our Mother was so moved that she couldn’t utter a word .
Later during his homily, Don Stefano said:” Mother Elvira is the heart and when the heart is moved the whole body is moved .”
True: she was crying, we all were crying….with joy, wonder, gratefulness.
After there was an explosion of joy and colours when all the people, waving coloured handkerchiefs, sang ,at the rhythm of waltz, rock, blues, etc…:”Happy birthday to you, thank you for sharig your life here with us, Mother we love you so much ,all the best to you”(it was sung according to the notes of” Oh when the Saints go marching’ in”!)
In between the changes of rhythm some boys and girls representing all the countries present in the Community, waving their different flags, wished her ” Happy Birthday ” in their own language so we remembered all the brotherhoods scattered nearly all over the world.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by many priests and enriched with hymns in Latin sung by our chorus.
Before the Offertory we lived a very touching moment when the chorus sang the “Suspice” and all the consecrated brothers and sisters together with our Mother went close to the altar to offer once again their lives to God Our Father :we are entirely His .
In that moment we were thinking about our missionary brothers and sisters and to the miracle of their lives spent for the little ones!
In the afternoon sketches, songs, dances performed by the youth ,by our friends, by the people who work in Saluzzo’s office, by the sisters and in the end ….the cake of course ,or better the cakes since they were 53 each bearing the name of one of our brotherhoods !!!
It was a full day and on our ways back we thanked Our Lady because we feel part of a grand work and because She gave us a unique and very special Mother!
