Jesus is Risen. His resurrection is a special, particular, and unique event. It is the proclamation of the victory of life over death, of light over darkness, and of love over sin. Easter is the “feast of running feet.” Everyone gets to the tomb tired, sad, disappointed, and they leave running! The Risen Christ gives us the dynamism, the drive, to run and proclaim the victory. Christ is risen! He is truly risen! This is the daily experience that for many years my eyes contemplate, my hands touch, and my ears hear: the dead are raised to life; prisoners are freed; the blind see. The power of His resurrection ignites ours! Each day there are thousands of opportunities to give witness and to manifest what the Lord has done for us with a smile, an act of forgiveness, an embrace, an act of service, or a job done for and with love. May Mary Magdalene and the apostles grant us the gift of starting to run again to bring the Good News to everyone! Death no longer has the final word. It has been defeated by the life of Christ! “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who announce peace!” These are your feet, my feet, our feet… and so the world will experience the Resurrection!
