Sunday, September 8, the Cenacolo Community of Lourdes has invited all the friends of the Sanctuary and the region to be in the fraternity "Mother of Divine Providence" to celebrate its fourteenth anniversary. After a warm welcome, including singing and dancing on the square in front of the house, we found ourselves in the park, "a cathedral in green" to celebrate the Holy Mass in the open air, welcoming Brouwet Monsignor Nicolas, Bishop of Tarbes-Lourdes who gave us the gift of celebrating the Eucharist with us.
The Mass was concelebrated by many priest friends, including the parish priest of Lourdes, the Rev. Duhar. During the celebration, the view of the Pyrenees Mountains made us enjoy the miracles of God the Father, through the beauty of nature.
The Bishop's homily, focused on the importance of humility, touched the hearts of many through concrete examples from everyday life. Each one has been able to find himself in the words of Monsignor Brouwet, who with simplicity of language and consistency has been able to be understood by everyone.
Also lunch, with a strictly Italian menu, was held outdoors. The tables and umbrellas on the lawn have created a summer atmosphere. While all relished the Mediterranean diet, Monsignor Brouwet spoke and met personally each one of the guests stopping at each table.
During the afternoon, through the testimonies we shared some important moments in the life of the Community. We rejoiced with Franco and Bernadette, leaders of the Community in France for their wedding anniversary (10 years) and for the next twenty years of presence of the Community in France. Finally, we give thanks for the thirty years of the life of the Cenacolo Community and for the lives reborn thanks to the school of St. Bernadette who with humility and with his simple life showed us the path to holiness.
