My dear friends, We wish to inform you that on Thursday March 24th at 3,30 p.m. Sister Piera “retu rned home” to the arms of the Father who rushed to welcome her. She passed peacefully, here in the Mother House in Saluzzo, surrounded by the boys who have lived close to her as “ Guardian Angels” during the last months. In the morning we lived a beautiful moment of prayer during which she received the Unction for ill people, the absolution of sins and the Holy Communion, as viaticum for the great journey back to the Father. We were all deeply moved when each of us gave thanks to God for something beautiful He donated us through her. Her life given to God was a great gift for us too! Let’s thank God for choosing her and calling her to be “His” spouse as a nun and for leading her to the Community where many boys considered her like a mother, a friend or a sister, during their walk of resurrection. In these years she was able to teach many of them to pray and care of little things: they felt loved because they were followed by her look and corrected by her voice! Many times, in the last months, her eyes were moved to tears when she repeated: “I served them and now they are serving me: How lucky I am!” It’s true: what she loved most in the Community was the life of the boys, she felt them as children that God had left with her, she considered them as “hers”, true gift from God. She arrived in Heaven by the time of Annunciation Vespers, the feast of Mary’s “here I am” , great feast of Our Lady: how beautiful and bright she must have seen the Virgin Mary at the door of Heaven, ready to welcome her! She is the first “Missionary Sister of Resurrection” in Heaven :let’s commit our lives to her prayer. The funeral was celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Franciscan church of St. Bernardino, on the hill of Saluzzo. Pray with us to commit her life to God’s Mercy and to thank Our Lord for calling her; let’s ask the Resurrected to open the doors of Heaven for her. United to Mary’s “yes” and certain of Resurrection ,with a serene, joyful and confident heart, we greet you and we thank you for joining us in prayer.
