“you must be born from above” (Gv 3,7)
This is the theme of the annual retreat of the families that live within the “big family” of the Cenacolo Community. We met from different houses in Europe on the Sunday of the Divine Mercy to live together a week of retreat and prayer.
As seat for the retreat we chose the Sanctuary of Regina Pacis in Medjugorje, where our Community is present with two fraternities that welcomed and sustained us during the entire retreat. Every day we started praying the rosary while we climbed the Podbrodo, the hill of apparitions. Afterwards an intense and precious moment of silence followed to let God speak to our hearts.
We meditated on the words of the liturgy of the blessing of the spouses in the nuptial rite to discover again the gift that our spouse is for us, the beauty of being for ever faithful to the spouse that God has chosen for us.
Much space was devoted to the eucharistic devotions and the catechesis with Mother Elvira, that together with the Holy Masses celebrated by Father Stefano and Father Ivan helped us to let the sacrament of Christian marriage shine in all its light. Our joy is the best testimony of the love that God has for us, to illuminate our children, the youth we live with and the people we meet with the light of Christ.: “we are always ready to witness the joy and the hope that are in us”.
Many thanks to the guys of the “Field of life” for their welcome and to the girls of the “Field of joy” for the attention and care reserved to our children that they looked after; they made us feel at home.
