 Here we are with the desire of sharing with you the beautiful moments we spent when we met to celebrate Mother’s Elvira birthday thanking God for the gift of her life.
We gathered together at the Sport Centre in Fossano: there were a lot of friends, all the girls and boys come to Saluzzo not only from all over Italy but also from Ireland, England, Belgium, France, Austria, Slovak, and Croatia…we were a big family indeed, ‘colourful’ and joyful for a special day so much awaited.
Our mother Elvira opened the day with a wonderful catechesis about the gift of life and about the gratitude to God for all that he works through each of us.
For the holy mass our priests chose passages from the Word of God on the divine Providence, ‘ the pretty woman who wakes up every day one hour before us and lays down every night one hour after us’: that’s how father Stefano described it in the homily remembering how mother Elvira used to say of it when she spoke of it to the boys who first arrived at the Cenacolo.
Lunch was good, tasteful and abundant: some parents and friends made it for us.
In the afternoon, after we prayed the rosary, some of us danced, sang, acted to delight mother Elvira’s heart… in short we tried to be free and make some self-mockery.
The day ended with the wonderful cake made from by the women friends of the Community. We thank them from the bottom of our heart along with all those who joined us in this party of gratitude to God, Father and Lord of life!
