Here we are a week before the festival and more excited then ever because it looks like everything is happening in God’s time in spite of us! We are working and rehearsing like crazy to have everything ready! The guys are working non-stop without free time after lunch since last month to be able to prepare everything that we want to do. I can see a very good spirit in our houses, a spirit of excitement and sacrifice and joy. They are also concerned about how they will react when they see their own family and Mother Elvira! But these are normal feelings because, for once, they need to show who they are without faking or being under any influence of anything and that is difficult, but it is a new beginning to find this new man who is inside of us without really knowing him yet! That is what comunita Cenacolo is all about: finding our self without any influence other than God, learning to like ourselves for who we are, and embracing the new way of life that is the proposal of our community. If we reach this goal, we will be fine! At OLOH, our main house, the guys are very committed to rehearsing the music and the show. I can see that the guys really want to do something very special. I am sure that everyone who will see our show “Rejoice in Hope” will really like it The good part of it is that everyone is in it. All our 40 guys now present in Florida are in the show, and I am telling you that it is not easy to coordinate all of it! A group of guys also worked at St. Maria Goretti for the last few weeks to prepare the site for the girls, finishing the fence, clearing some of the woods, and taking away all the leftover supplies from the construction project, so now the house is ready for the girls. We found four nice bunk beds, and we will need more. We have pretty much a lot of basics, but we want to have the girls take some ownership of the house and do it as they wish. I am sure they will do it, I have seen many girls’ houses before, and they look beautiful just because the girls do great work inside. Our girls received the visa. They are coming Monday night. A new chapter for Comunita Cenacolo will start. We are very excited. At Mary Immaculate we are making progress with our buildings. We keep passing inspections, and we keep on working on the grounds. The place looks very nice and there is a good feeling in the house, a spirit of joy, friendship and unity. It is special to see! About the family retreat… we are expecting a lot of people and please be ready for a great weekend. Let’ s pray for the weather. Florida is always a question mark, but God will take care of it for us. We invite the families coming in earlier, or who have supplies, for the Community, please go to the house where your son or daughter is not. For those who are afraid that they will not be able to see their son or daughter, don’t worry, you will be able to see them at the right time. Also if you want to bring something for the Community, focus on basics like groceries, cleaning supplies, toilet paper etc. The basic things you need in a family are items always needed and greatly appreciated. The Cenacolo family is growing all the time. With the three houses of guys and girls, we will be around 50, so it is a large family! Just recently we had 3 new missionaries come from Europe to help. They are Stefano from Italy, Piotr from Poland, and Christian from Germany. They came here to help. They bring a lot of experience in Community because they have been in Community already over 3 years. Also Jeremy H. came back from Austria. Minh will arrive Tuesday for a visit, and Shaun will arrive on Thursday, so the houses are really full. Be ready and be open to the Holy Spirit for this coming weekend, pray for us and we will pry for safe trip Grazie Ciao
