Annually, the Community organizes a special meeting for the “Missionary” guys, who are usually scattered throughout the various European fraternities. It is an opportunity to get together with Mother Elvira and to more profoundly rediscover the meaning and the beauty of serving and loving life in this Work of God which is Cenacolo.
Usually the meeting is held in Saluzzo, near the Mother House, the place that w e love to call “The Heart of the Community”, because it is where God chose to start this family of “public sinners” who rediscover true life by walking “from the darkness to the light”. This year Providence brought to life a simple and luminous intuition which Mother Elvira confirmed and blessed: … why do we not all go to Lourdes, where Mary gave us three fraternities and where this year the 150th anniversary of the Apparitions is celebrated?
This is how we found ourselves living, not only a meeting, but also a beautiful pilgrimage, including prayer at the Grotto of Massabielle and visits to the various places of Bernadette, which helped us to deepen and interiorize what we experienced.
It was really a great opportunity for sharing, praying, listening, and choosing what God indicated to us through the moments of catechism, of adoration, of communion, and of celebration. Mother Elvira, our priests, and other guys with more community life e xperience helped us with their testimonies not to miss out on the occasion of living the calling to the Community as a gift.
We thank Mary, the Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Lourdes, because in these days each one of us felt her tender and maternal presence and her faithful intercession.
Let Her, with her “daughter” Bernadette, teach us to let the seeds of Love and Mercy, which Her Son Jesus wanted to abundantly sow inside of us, grow.
