Prayer to Saint Rita of Cascia
O dear Saint Rita,
Patron of impossible causes
and advocate of desperate cases,
allow that the Lord might free me from all suffering
and remove the fears that bind my heart.
You who loved your own enemies,
teach us the strength of forgiveness.
You who carried in your heart and on your forehead
the marks of the passion of Christ,
teach us to love even when that same love
requires us to suffer.
You who were a woman of faith, wife of faith,
mother of faith, consecrated to God in faith,
make all women of today
capable of living their vocations
with that same unique strength called faith,
that can move mountains
in difficulty and in fear.
Give to the world holy women,
holy wives, holy mothers
and holy consecrated women.
Saint Rita, Patron of desperate causes,
Pray for the many men and women
who are desperate and alone.
Saint Rita, advocate of impossible cases,
Intercede for us a certainty of faith
that continuously repeats
“Nothing is impossible for God!”
