Prayer to Saint Josemaría Escrivá of Balaguer
O God the Father, by the intercession
of the Most Holy Virgin
you conceded to Saint Josemaria, a priest,
numerous graces, choosing him as an instrument
to announce to the world
that holiness is possible for everyone
by the sanctification of work
and in the fulfillment of our everyday tasks of life
that are carried out with love, with honesty and joy.
Allow that I too might know how to transform every moment
and all circumstances of my life as an occasion to love you
and to serve the Church with joy and simplicity.
Allow me, by the intercession of Josemaria
all the graces necessary for my life
so that I might discover in every instant
that faith is the true strength of my walk.
Give me an honest heart, a clean conscience,
and a life that knows how to serve
the needs of my brothers with joy
and thereby bringing fruit with the gifts and talents
that you, Lord, gave me.
