Prayer to Saint Camillus de Lellis
Lord Jesus, by making yourself man,
you wanted to share the suffering
of our human nature.
We beg you, by the intercession
of Saint Camillus
who loved and served intensely
the poor and sick,
to help all those who live
difficult moments of suffering.
As in your life you showed
a particular partiality towards the sick,
so now turn to those who are suffering,
and show them your fatherly goodness.
Heal those who are weighed down
in body and spirit,
sustain the faith of those
who are under the cross,
those who waver under the power of evil,
and open the horizons of hope
to those in darkness.
Make us, like Saint Camillus,
aware that in the face
of sickness and suffering,
that it is your hand that knocks
on our heart.
Awaken my faith in the presence
of my brothers
and give me the tenderness of your love
to serve them and love them
with your heart.
Saint Camillus de Lellis,
