SCHEDULE

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16

The decree of recognition will be given to us the morning of October 16 in the Aula Magna of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.  His Eminence Stanislaw Cardinal Rylko, President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, will preside.  Only a few international representatives of the members of Comunita Cenacolo can participate    at this moment.  Also present will be the His Excellency the Most Reverend Giuseppe Guerrini, Bishop of Saluzzo, and His Excellency the Most Reverend Diego Bona, Bishop Emeritus, the two shepherds who accompanied our journey in the diocese where the Lord chose our Community to be born.

Clearly we will all be there with our hearts and our prayers.  The participants in the pilgrimage will live the moment the decree is granted in prayerful communion with an hour of Eucharistic Adoration from 10:30-11:30 in the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia, known as the Church of the Divina Misericordia, very close to St. Peter’s Square.

In the afternoon of October 16th, His Eminence Angelo Cardinal Comastri, a very dear friend of our Community, will welcome us in St. Peter’s Basilica at 5:00 p.m., where he will preside over the Holy Mass for us.   All of us should be present for the Mass.  It is an immense gift that our fragile heart and our small, poor faith can lean for support on the “rock” of Peter, the apostles, the saints, and the martyrs of these 2000 years of Christian history.   The Holy Mass we will be our “thanksgiving,” with our hearts deeply moved for having been welcomed into the heart of the Church.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17

In the morning we will gather together for the Holy Mass at the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura (St. Paul Outside the Wall), built on the site where tradition says St. Paul was buried and martyred, close to the place called Tre Fontane (Three Fountains).   There the Bishop Emeritus of Saluzzo, His Excellency the Most Reverend Diego Bona, will preside over the Holy Mass.

In the afternoon we will visit the catacombs of San Callisto, one of the significant places in faith of the first Christian martyrs.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18

We will all gather together for the Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m., again at the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia, known as the Church of the Divina Misericordia.  After the Mass, we will go to St. Peter’s Square for the Angelus and for Benediction by the Holy Father.

Beloved,

Let us prayerfully prepare ourselves for this important moment of faith in the history of our Community.   We joyfully invite all of you to participate in the pilgrimage to Rome.   If it is not possible for you to come, let us be united in prayer from this very hour, so that, through the Church who is our Mother, a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit may descend upon all the Community.   May Our Blessed Mother prepare out hearts well for this moment of grace.  We are in the Cenacle in prayer with her, awaiting the Spirit.  Thank you!
