Families open to life
These are families who freely choose to live full-time within Cenacolo, cooperating in the service and responsibilities of their community house, and participating in the various moments of prayer, of work, and sharing.
They live as “families open to life” with the door of their home and of their hearts sprung open to the poor, welcoming, and bringing themselves to those who are deprived, and in need of human warmth and spirituality that only a family can give.
Their commitment is renewed annually with a promise to live in poverty, chastity, obedience, and service to the poor according to their matrimonial state of life.
A few families of the Community are responsible for the welcoming of guys and girls who are immigrants, drug addicts, or in other desperate situations. Others in the missions take part in the education of abandoned children of the streets.
Along with their children, they are a strong testimony of hope and of shared joy. At this time, the families that live full time in the community number 15.
Central to these families is a particular brief Rule of Life with fundamental points to live out the vocation of a Christian marriage according to the style and the charism of the Community.
