Festival of Life 2008

Thursday  |  Saturday  |

The Community Cenacolo has celebrated its first 25 years’activity with a participated and moving  festival. Born  in a ruined villa on the hills of Saluzzo on July 16th 1983 thanks to sister Elvira Petrozzi’s  infecting humanity ,acknowledged by the Church as Association of the Faithful in 1998,
the “Cenacolo” has been able to grow and increase, repeating the model of  Saluzzo brotherhood in other 55 “houses” in Italy, Europe and America. Songs and colours have intermingled during the four days’festival to witness the joy of an encounter that has transformed the lives of so many people by renewing them. Sister Elvira has  focused  what every person always really wishes :happiness.
The 25 years’ Community have been condensed  in the testimonies and in a photo exhibition which runs across the quick growth of an idea which was born in the first 80s. Set near the chapel the exhibition shows black and white shots and also more recent colour ones, a testimony of the vortical
passing of time, working, dancing and praying.
Many sentences of our founder are the background to the exhibition and they look like precious jewels among the images: thoughts, choices, projects carried on during the twenty-five years of the Community life. The initial input has particularly been put into evidence: on the hills of Saluzzo among doubts and uncertainties, the light of Faith has always pointed out the way, clarifying the task. From there it has moved to different realities  in several parts of the world:22 houses in Italy, 24 in Europe, 7 in South America,3 in Florida.
There were also meaningful shots with John Paul II and with Benedict XVI.
